How To Make Glittery String Snowballs

How gorgeous these Glittery String Snowballs are! They’re simple and inexpensive to make and look wonderful for your home decor. Hang them from your ceiling or your Christmas tree to add some bling to your home.

This is a fun DIY craft project that you can make easily. What you need for this project are

Small package of water balloons
Tacky glue
Plain white string
Glitter
Ornament Hooks
Water

One tip: soak the strings in the glue mixture before winding around the balloon so that the strings are more evenly coated and stick better. Get all the information and start making your glitter string balls.

Another great idea to add to these would be to put battery operated tea light candle in the balloon and after you pop the balloon you could light up your snowball!!! I believe I will be making some of these for the wintery season!

These can be made with other colored string for ever season but the idea of glittery snow balls for winter is awesome

Great video, may I add a couple tips? I purchase the ‘water bomb’ type balloons for making these ( which it appears she did in the video as well) as opposed to party type balloons. I just find the party balloons want to form an elong shape, where the ‘water bomb’ balloons blow up round, as they are meant to be filled with water.

Check the string or wool prior to popping the balloon, to ensure all the strings are dry. Overnight may not be long enough, depending on how wet the string is. You can also use yarn for this project, might require more mixture on it, and a longer drying time, I find the cotton yarns stick the best!

  Will try these today..got cotton yarn and tacky glue and glitter. Pity you can’t post a picture of finished product. or maybe that’s a good thing!

They look lovely but it might make life easier to tip some of the glitter into the glue and mix it. As the glue dries clear the glitter would show through and be less likely to drop everywhere.
