How To Make Stunning Patterned Penny Floor

At first glance, this floor looks like beautiful antique tile or copper floor. Can you believe that it is actually made of pennies? $130 worth of them!

This is a wonderful project by one of our fellow DIYers. Tonya Tooners gathered and sorted 13,000 pennies to make this stunning DIY floor.

It took Tooners two months to complete the project. She alternated between placing pennies heads or tails side up and made sure they were all facing the same direction.

After the pattern was complete and floor is all covered with pennies, Tooners used unsanded grout to fill the gaps between the pennies. Lastly sealed the floor with a layer of epoxy.
The final results? So stunning!
