How To Make Fire With A Lemon

The project we are going to show you today is truly amazing. It can be a great scientific experiment for kids or an awesome survival tip.
Here is the science behind this project. You can make a battery to start fire with nothing more than a lemon, copper clips, zinc nails, wire, and a steel wool.
Don’t get this wrong. The lemon itself doesn’t generate electricity. Electricity is generated through a chemical oxidation-reduction reaction that occurs when the zinc dissolves into the lemon acid. You can squeeze about one volt out of such a lemon battery.
Here is How To Start Fire With A Lemon. Scroll down for video for more details.
Safety note: Be cautious of safety and fire hazard.
1. Stick copper fasteners into lemon.

2. add some zinc nails.

3. Connect the copper to the zinc with conductive wires on a diagonal way.
4. Attach one insulated wire to the free copper fastener and one to the free zinc nail.
5. Touch the two ends of the wires to a piece of steel wool simultaneously to create a short-circuit. Watch the steel wool heat up and a fire start.
