How To Tell If An Egg Is Fresh? Here is an useful egg freshness test. Just put them in clean water and watch how they float in water.
- Very fresh eggs will sink to the bottom and lay on its side.
- Good eggs that about week or so old will rest on the bottom and the fat end of the eggs will rise up slightly.
- Fair eggs, which are about three weeks old, will be balanced on pointy end with the fat end sticking up. They are best for hard boiling as they are easy to peel off.
- Bad eggs are the ones floating in the water. Toss them away as they are not good to eat.
